§ 5.2. Powers and duties of committees—Standing or otherwise.

  • All proposed ordinances, resolutions, motions or other matters shall be referred, upon receipt of same by the administrator of council through the pro-tem of council to one or more of the committees, standing or otherwise, as he shall deem appropriate, unless there is objection to such referral in which case the council by majority vote shall determine to which of the committees, standing or otherwise, said matter shall be referred. Should there be an objection to referral by the pro-tem of council of any matter to any such committee, such objection shall be made in writing and shall be signed by the member or members so objecting. Any such matter as herein above stated shall be referred sequentially or simultaneously to any or all such committees as shall be determined by the pro-tem of council, and, if said matter is to be considered by more than one committee, then said matter shall be reported to council by the last committee which has considered said matter.
