§ 26-241. Issuance of license; fee.

  • The city clerk shall issue a license to engage in or operate an ambulance business or service, unless earlier suspended, revoked or terminated, when he finds that:

    (1)

    The public convenience and necessity require the proposed ambulance business or service.

    (2)

    Each such ambulance owned or operated by the applicant and the required equipment and premises designated in the application have been duly certified to be in compliance with the requirements of this article.

    (3)

    The applicant is a responsible and proper person to conduct or work in the proposed business or service.

    (4)

    Only duly licensed emergency medical technicians are employed in such capacities.

    (5)

    All of the requirements of this article and all other applicable laws and ordinances have been complied with.

    (6)

    Each license issued pursuant to the requirements and provisions of this article shall be valid for a period of one year from the date of issuance, unless earlier suspended, revoked or terminated.

    (a)

    Upon the issuance of a license, the licensee shall pay an annual fee of $63.00.
